Substitute Teacher
We are hiring a Substitute Teacher to join our
friendly staff. Our business hours are 7:45-5:15, Monday through Friday. As a substitute, you
would be working up to 40 hours per week, most likely in all three classrooms, as your availability and our need allows.
Montessori Children’s House is a privately owned Preschool in Bozeman,
MT., located very close to MSU, with 3 age-separated classrooms for children
ages 6 weeks to 3½ years. You would be working with the head-teacher and usually
one other teacher assistant in the classroom.
Our sunlit classrooms, equipped with Montessori material, the generous
outdoor space as well as our cooperative teacher teams and the supportive
administration make Montessori Children’s House a great place to work.
Qualifications:
- A friendly
nature, patience and love for young children
- Experience
caring for young children
- Flexible and
open-minded
- Enjoy working
in a child care team
- Knowledge of the Montessori Method preferred
- Knowledge of
best practices as well as the ability to engage young children and earn
their trust
- Communication
and listening skills to converse with children, fellow preschool teachers
and parents or guardians
- Must pass a
background check
- CPR/First Aid
Certification required. (Paid for by the school)
Assisting in:
- Maintaining a
safe and fun environment for young children.
- Performing
creative and educational activities
- Preparing and
feeding snacks and lunches
- Maintaining a
clean environment for small children
- Demonstrating a
compassionate attitude when interacting with and caring for children
